If you can volunteer to help, or if you have a teenager who would like to help, please email our Community Club President, Joanna Flores at joannajflores@yahoo.com.

Staff Appreciation Day 2010

Author: Webmaster  //  Category: Announcements

Dear Evergreen Teachers and Staff,

It is our sincere pleasure to be honoring you today.  We have had a wonderful year, and we would like to take a moment to thank you for all of your hard work and support.

Evergreen has recently been named a California Distinguished School, and while we are tremendously proud of that honor, we are very aware that our teachers and staff have been “distinguished” for a long time.   Evergreen has an amazing reputation.  Our reputation brings students in from surrounding cities, and has prompted people to purchase homes in this area just so their children can secure a seat at Evergreen.  There are many reasons for our success, but the relationship that our teachers, staff, parents and students have built, makes us more than an elementary school, it makes us a family.  If it truly “takes a village” to raise a child, then we have built a village here.  It is clear to our parents that you, as teachers and staff, are as committed to our children’s success as each and every parent is.

We appreciate the fact that you are committed to the whole child, and not just the test scores.  We appreciate the fact that you spend so much of your time, energy, love and often times, your own money to enrich our children’s lives.  We appreciate that you have supported all of our fundraising efforts, from attending a book fair at Barnes and Noble, to walking a Walk-A-Thon with your students.  We appreciate that you volunteer for after school activities like Family Fun Night, the talent show, the science fair, and the District 5K.   We appreciate that our children are receiving the best education possible.  We appreciate that our children are in a public school, but it feels like a private school.  We appreciate the time you spend on music and art, even though most programs have been cut.  We appreciate our noon-aides and cafeteria staff who care for our children at lunch, and make sure everyone has a meal.  We appreciate that when our children are hurt, the health clerk gives tender loving care.  We appreciate our Librarian who spends countless hours ensuring our library is top-notch.  We appreciate that our office staff knows every child by name and supports us in countless ways.  We appreciate that our children with special needs, have those needs met by our support staff.  We appreciate the custodial staff for making every program and talent show possible.  We appreciate the fact that our children are safe crossing the street.  We appreciate that our children are healthier thanks to an amazing P.E. program.  And finally, we appreciate that we have a Principal that believes in his staff, believes in his parents and most of all, puts our kids first every day.

We are proud to be a part of this Evergreen “village”.  It is our pleasure to work with you every day.  We hope that you enjoy your luncheon.  We’d like to thank our Hospitality Committee for their hard work and care to show you our appreciation.

With Warmest Regards,

The Evergreen Community Club
